Background
March 1st 2021 marks the first anniversary of our Center for Visualizing Catalytic Processes (VISION).
We will celebrate this occasion by launching a new series of VISION Seasonal Lectures in which a distinguished scientist will be invited to cover a “hot” topic related to VISION’s activities within cutting-edge electron microscopy, nanoscience and catalysts.
The first lecture will be given by Prof. Quentin Ramasse. Quentin is director of the SuperSTEM Laboratory - the EPSRC UK National Research Facility for Advanced Electron Microscopy. He has worked on developing and applying atomic-resolution electron microscopy and spectroscopy to a wide range of energy harvesting materials, 2D materials (graphene, NoS2), nano catalysts and complex oxides. More recently Quentin and his team have pioneered vibrational spectroscopy of single atoms within the electron microscope and he will introduce us to this emerging capability and the opportunities it opens up within physical and chemical sciences.
We hope you will join us for this inspirational event.
