The Lecture takes place on October 20.
Visualizing matter atom-by-atom is now possible by using electron beams. While such observations yield unprecedented insight into complex nanomaterials (e.g. nanoparticles, 2D materials, and proteins), filming atom dynamics is essential too for understanding their functional behavior.
In this lecture, I will outline electron microscopy advances that aim at tracing chemical reactions at the atomic level and that we pursue in the new Center for Visualizing Catalytic Processes (VISION) to aid the introduction of sustainable energy resources.
